Our Quilting Services
How much does longarm quilting cost?
----------------------------------------------------
Thread fee - We charge a flat $3 thread fee, no matter what size your quilt is.
----------------------------------------------------
Actual quilting - The following applies to edge-to-edge quilting. Please contact us for a price quote if you want custom quilting.
The actual quilting charge is $0.0175/square inch (or 1-3/4 cents per square inch.) This is determined by multiplying the length and width of your quilt top (in inches) and then multiplying that number by .0175.
·Is there a minimum charge for actual quilting?
---------------------------------------------------------------
We have no minimum charge. For example, if you have a table runner or baby quilt, the quilting would still be the 1-3/4 cents per square inch!
What about quilt backing and quilt batting for my quilt?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You MUST send the quilt backing along with your quilt.
The quilt backing AND batting must be at least 6” wider and 6” longer than the quilt top. That is so we can quilt up to the edge of your quilt and also so we can “test” the thread tensions on a portion that is not your treasured quilt!
If you don’t have batting we can provide it at $5/yard. It will be an 80% cotton/20% polyester batting that is either 96” or 126” wide. we typically measure so the wide width of the batting becomes the length. This means you are charged for a smaller amount of batting yardage.
·Binding – optional service:
----------------------------------------------------
We charge a flat fee of $25 labor cost to bind your quilt.
You are responsible for providing the binding fabric.
We can estimate for you the yardage needed for binding based on the size of your quilt so you can include the necessary amount when you send your quilt top and backing.
What about shipping?
----------------------------------------------------
If shipping is required, you will pay the actual shipping cost. We normally use USPS Priority but can also ship UPS, if you prefer.
What quilting patterns are available?
----------------------------------------------------
You can choose a quilting pantograph from those shown on our website, under the “Quilting Design” heading. If you see one that you prefer at an online retailer, we are willing to split the cost (typically $15 or less) in half, where you are billed for 1/2 on your final invoice and we pay the rest.
What thread color will be used for quilting?
----------------------------------------------------
We will show you available quilting thread colors to choose from either in person or virtually.
How long does longarm quilting take to complete?
----------------------------------------------------
Typically, our turnaround time is a week from the time we receive your quilt to the time it is finished.
What about trimming the quilt?
----------------------------------------------------
After quilting, we can trim your quilt to your specifications at no charge and return your trimmings that are 2” or wider. Otherwise, we can leave it for you to trim.
